I don't know if anyone else out there has the same issue i do, but i am sure someone probably does. My hair is very fine and very straight. When it is freshly shampooed and dried i have a very hard time getting it to hold any style, especially when i have my hair cut in a shorter style and try to acheive the "touseled" bed head type of looks which i love. I find that on the day after shampooing my hair, i can achieve much more textured, stlyed looks and they hold much better, but my hair is on the oilier side and i cn't stand my roots looking greasy, when the rest of my hair loks gorgeous. I have read many tips in fashion magazines about using a "dry shampoo" product to help eliminate this problem, while still maintaining the wonderufl managability of non-freshly washed hair. These products are like a powder, that one sprinkles in the hair, lets sit for a few minutes, then you brush through your hair to remove the residue. The powder essential absorbs excess oil from the scalp and often times freshens the smell of your hair, without stripping all the oils out of your hair that are what assist in managability. I was wondering, where can products like this be purchased? When i look up info on line, most of them refer me to european stores. I suppose i could order them online and have them shipped to me to try, but i would rather not pay all that extra money if i can find it somewhere locally. I have never seen them in any f the stores around here, would i maybe have more luck if i tried a beauty supply store or something like that? Has anyone out there heard of or tried these products? Any reccomendations or tips? In a few of the magazines the recommend using baby powder or corn starch if you don't have these products, which i have tried and they somewhat worked, but now that i have darker colored hair instead ofmy original blond, i find they affect the sheen and color of my hair, as not all the product comes out after brushing through. I have come across in my searches that these dry shampoos actually come specified to what hair color you have, so if you have darker hair, the powder is darker in color and won't leave white residue on your scalp, which would suit me better. Thanks for sharing any info or comments you might have!

I dont have dry hair. My hair is frizzy, but i think Herbal Essances should have a shampoo for dry hair. I use it for frizzy hair and it really works!

I am pretty sure they do make a shampoo for dry hair, it is the one labled as moisturizing (i can't remember the actual name of it off the top of my head, but i work in the health and beauty department of a store and stock and order it all the time). But i was looking for information on actual dry shampoos, not shampoos for dry hair. These are shampoos that you don't use in the shower, you apply them to your hair dry, ans then brush them out. they are for use when you either don't have time or don't want to wash your hair. Do you have any information on these you could share?

I'm pasting here a comment that I posted on another site. I'll tell anyone who's listening (or reading!) about this stuff because it's FABULOUS! Actually, since I'm new here, it won't let me paste. I wrote a TON & it would take me a while to retype. Go to columbus dot momslikeme dot com and search 'dry shampoo.' The first one that comes up has my response. Hope this helps. :)Vkay
