Okay, so I think i've oficially become obssesed with Silent Hill games. So far, iv'e beaten Silent Hill 2:Restless Dreams, Silent Hill 3, Silent Hill 4: The Room, Silent Hill: Homecoming, and i'm currently working on Silent Hill:Origins. I'm so annoyed because I haven't been able to find the original Silent Hill now that Gamestop stopped selling Playstation games. Anyway, I don't remember Silent Hill 2 too much, but all the games iv'e played so far are so awesome. I played them all out of order lol, but still great. The most recent game I finished playing was Silent Hill 3. I thought it was pretty great. The story line is pretty cool, but I found Heather kind of difficult to run with. Now im not sure if it's just me being clumsy with the controller, but I think it's a little bit harder to run with her. My husband says that its just me though. Anyway, I enjoyed the story line alot and the the actual game itself was pretty good. I guess the bosses could have been a little harder though, but then again I just played on normal. I'm thinking about going back playing that game and all the other ones again, but on hard. Now, I had been reading that alot of people didn't like Silent Hill 4:The Room, but i beg to differ. At first I kind of thought it sucked, and I got a little freaked out over the first person view in the begginig. Oh my God, I was so scared that the entire game was going to be in first person lol. It actually took me alot longer to beat that Silent Hill, only because I wasn't too engaged in the begginig. It took me a while before it grew on me, but i guess it was just that the story line didn't make too much sense. I suppose as the game progressed, it got more interesting for me. Ha ha the story line made me almost cry, especially the part where you find out that Little Walter would knock outside the apartment's door because he thought it was his mommy..The story line is still a little wrid, only because it doesn't tie in to the Silent Hill series very well. Well, atleast not for me. I just do remember that the writer that appears as one of the sacrafices on Silent Hill 4, some of his articles show up on Silent Hill 3. Now Silent Hill Homecoming...WOW. I love that game sooo much. That game is just...great. So far the best story line yet, in my opinion of course. If I ever have kids, im actually going to name the baby after one of the monsters (Scarlet) That game is just too great. I hate the schisms, those things are hard to kill though. I guess what I love about the Silent Hill series is the symbolism they bring into the games. For example, in Silent Hill :Homcoming, theres a point where Alex goes into the attic and encounters 5 Schism: One, cowering in the corner, which represents Alex's baby brother Josh (that he killed, sorta), theres a schism that lays on the floor, almost as if it gave uo on life, representing Alex's mom and how she feels about the sacrafice, theres one that completely goes nuts and attacks Alex, representing his father and his anger towards Alex messing up the order of things, etc.. and a decapitated Schism, which represemnts Alex and the completed sacrifice. If anyones wondering, the story line of Silent Hill Homecoming is this, more or less: A long time ago, the founding family made a pact with the Gods to sacrafice their children every 500 years or so, to ensure the protection of Shepards Glenn and make sure that it doesn't turn Silent Hillish. Well it was that time again..so 3 of the 4 (i think there were 4..)children were sacraficed (Nora, Scarlet, Joey), and then it was Alex's turn..Well Alex was pissed that his dad gave Joshua the family ring, so he took him out to the lake to talk to him. Well he took the ring, and the ring fell, and then his little brother fell and hit his dead..and drowed..so the wrong kid died. The whole point is that Alex killed his brother and he feels guilty, and its his fault Shepards Glenn is the way it is. The actual story really depends on what ending you get though. For example, I got the In Water ending where Alex's father drown him. Ohh, and something interesting! If you play the game, youre getiing pushed in a gurney. Well if you notice, it leads you to believe youre in a military hopital, but when you pass by the rooms and see people being tortured, its actually showing you how all the children were sacraficed. You see Nora being strangled, Scarlet being mutilated, and Joey being thrown into a sack...and of course, the person pushing Alex in the gurney is actaully Alex's dad, talking him to a room to perform the final sacrafice...wow I love this game.
