What's the nicest thing your child has ever done for you?

It could be anything but for me it was yesterday when my 10 year old son made me a cup of coffee for the first time ever. He put the brik on the stove and made me a perfect Greek coffee as a suprise for me, I've never shown him how to do it but he's seen me making them constantly. It was the most thoughtful gesture ever and earned my full appreciation. I was so happy that he's made me another two this morning.

AWWWW, How sweet. Boys are so special. I don't have a daughter [wish i did] but my sons are very special to me & there is no describing how i feel about that little grandson of mine.I had a brain aneurysm in 2000 & my boys were sooo good to me. They just took over & did everything that needed doing & i was so proud of them for doing that. U tell that 10 year old he's special to treat his mom that way.

He already knows how special he is to me Jo and he really knows how much I appreciated what he did. It's the hoidays now and he's always up before me and last night he promised to bring me coffee in bed this morning and he did, he knows I'm not human till I've had my first coffee. So glad to hear that both of your sons were there for you when you needed them, and I can hear how much you adore your grandson.

The first best thing he did was scrawl a birthday card for me…all in his kindergarten handwriting…he even managed to put some flower-pots with sticky flowers and giant leaves on them LOL…the next best thing is similar to what your child did for you….one Saturday morning I was just lazying on the bed and in he comes with a cup of steaming tea…to say I almost fell out of the bed, is to put it mildly indeed.

Hi sudiptacallingu, isn't it so sweet when they do things like that for us which show us they think about us too. The tea in bed is fantastic. Actually this morning I was still sleeping when mine came in and woke me up with a big kiss and a cup of coffee - then declared "don't expect any more coffees today." I'm taking advantage now before the novelty wears off.

It's such a simple gesture, but my kids being younger (6 and 2) it is a tremendously nice thing for me to hear them tell me "I love you, Mommy." My daughter also loves to try to buy gifts for me and will frequently pick a flower at school and give it to me after school.

Hi dorannmwin, that's nice ages, it's lovely when they say they love you. I get the flowers too, that's nice, but I made sure he knew not to get any from gardens. The coffee thing meant so much to me as I'd never even showed him how to make it, and he knows that I'm always turning away at the crucial moment just as the coffee boils over the top of the brik and makes a hideous thick mess on the top of the cooker, so he took his stool in next to the cooker and sat down to keep an eye on it.
