my ipod is not working, wat could be the reason??

hello people, my ipod is not working now..i could not trace the reason ... when i insert it to my computer its getting charged but the device is not getting detected ...when i switch on and start the music, the flash light is glowing for 3 seconds and it flashes very fastly after that 3 seconds and the light disappears then...i could not hear any sound or music.. could u please tell me the reason... could u people solve this issue.. my warranty period just expired... i want u my friends and mylotters to help me ... thanks
