How does it all work?

Mylot pay us for creating discussions, and Responding to discussions - Which we all love! And it gives us an oppertunity to talk to and meet loads of new people from all around the world. Which is great!
But how does mylot make their money? There is millions of Mylot users, who all need paying. I heard they get their money from advertising, is that right? Is that their sole source of income or is there other ways?
