Are you lactose intolerant?

I've known some people that are lactose intolerant. They can't stand the taste of milk (which contain lactose) in such case, they tend to vomit it, or spit it or it makes them sick. Even just smelling milk makes others queezy. Me, I love the taste of milk. A friend of mine got sick when she saw me drinking a glass of milk. She was like, "Ewwww can you drink that milk somewhere else. You're making my stomach turn." I kinda laughed and drank my milk elsewhere just not to make her sick.

I used to be intolerant for many years, at least 15. I'd tried the pills, and all kinds of stuff but they never really worked, I still got really sick. I couldn't even tolerate mashed potatoes with the small amount of milk that was in them. Then one day I was talking with this Dr, and she suggested that I re-acclimate my body to get used to it. I started out with 1/4 teaspoon of milk, once a day, for a few weeks, then I advanced to 1/4 tsp twice a day. Then I gradually moved up, a quarter of a teaspoon at a time for a while. It took a few months, but it worked. I didn't think it would, but it did. I can now eat a bowlful of cereal with milk in it, and I can also have a scoop or two of ice cream will no ill effects. I'm extremely glad I tried the suggestion because it worked so well. For me, it wasn't the smell, it was the aftereffects, and without those devastating effects, I love the milk products I missed all those years!

No, I'm not but I know people who are. They sometimes take some kind of pills that allow them to process the lactose found in dairy products.
