I added my site/blog to google and yahoo 2. I use free advertising sites like leadsweap 3. I post my site on twitter and youtube What methods do you use to promote your blog/website, and are your promotion techniques successful?

Hi Apples, I write articles to post to various writing sites, and under the Profile page, I always add the url to my blog. The only problem is that I can't use banner as what i did to the profile page in mylot. Another way is rather time consuming, but quite effective. Use Yahoo Answers. When people ask any question, you can research on it, and then write a short blog post. After that, go back to Yahoo Answers, make a summary, and use the reference page to paste the URL of your blog. It's quite time-consuming, and even though I got traffic, I rather not use this method. I also ping my blogs regularly, and submit to free blogging directories.

You listed Yahoo Answers as effective, but you said you would rather not use this method. I'm a bit puzzled, if it is effective...what's the draw-back...the amount of time involved in doing it or is there another reason?

Well I think another good way for you to promote your blog would be from forums, your friends are more likely to support you right. So I would promote my blog over here an other forums. By the way you would be able to view my blog under my profile. Another effective way is to visit other people blogs, and more likely if you have left a comment in their blogs, the would return the favor.

Hello my friend, what you said really helps receive traffic from your blog. So far, I had increasing visitors on my blog using mybloglog and using shout mix. I visit other blogs and leave the URL of my blog on their blog in order for them to visit me. I also leave comments with my blog URL on forums. Somehow I also use twitter but its not helpful enough. While I'm still learning how to apply my blog on search engines.

Being a blogger for more than 2 years, the best strategy for me is forum posting, blog commenting, and guest posting. In forum posting such as here in myLot,I can include my blog on my profile and talk about the topics on my blog in such a way that readers will be attracted to visit my blog. In blog commenting, I am able to socialize with the blogger and his readers. By doing this,I am also increasing my network constant followers. Guest blogging is one strategy that I really enjoy, as I am being to increase my self-confidence. I am proud to say that I have been a guest blogger at Blogging Tips dot com for four times, and it had a great impact on my blog. By the way, I have my own set of blogging tips. If you are interested, please feel free to visit my blog - http://fatherblogger.com/blogging-tips/Thanks!

I totally agree with you that commenting in blogs is a very good strategy. It does work. Not only do u get the owner of the blog to visit your site, but you also get other visitors of that particular blog to check your site.

set up a twitter account and post often. also, follow popular people and twitter them things like questions. say something funny that relates to your blog and attach a link. I am fairly new to both steady blogging and twitter and in two days I already have 2 comments and 71 followers on twitter. (http://runstudyeat.wordpress.com) The ke is to make your presence be known but try not to get caught up in too many scamming sites like followFriday---although it works and free submission sites. Focus on going to blogs that relate to your topics and frequently leaving comments on them linking back to your blog through your screenname. Soon they will return the comment favor and once they do ask for a link exchange. This will build your credibility. I am a internet journalism student and I hope this helps!

Attracting more traffic on blog is just what I want to do now, I enjoy the sense of sharing my experience and feelings with others. Find a relevant post comment on it and add the link underneath sounds a good way to make it.

Wow. I have not really done much -- I mean, compared to you.Ü I hop blogs a lot. I like reading other people's blogs and if I find something interesting in a person's blog, I make sure that I always leave a nice comment. Aside from that, I put my link in my profile in my accounts in social-networking sites: Twitter, Facebook, Friendster, Multiply, and of course MyLot. So far, Twitter drives most traffic.
