I hate going to work, because everytime I get there, all I can hear is just people talking bad about others and too much back stabbing. It seems like just about everyone is trying to get others sacked. Do you experience this in your workplace too? How do you handle it?

I guess it something that cannot be avoid, and it happen everywhere. That's why I've been remind to keep watch of my mouth and do not use it without thinking. Some people wanted to have more power and are willing to do anything for me. I learn to be patient and strong and do not bother about this people. Actually I'm kind scared to be around with this of people. i don't care about power, I don't care about promotion as long as I am safe and happy. My job is something that I need to have but I can earn more somewhere else, so I will not participate in any work or office politics

This happens every where.Hate to go to work or sitting idle is not a remedy. You should try to avoid such people. Also try to use effectively the same technic of back stabbing and pulling others legs, if it is necessary for your survival.
