festive season begins.!!

hi all.. happy friendship day to u..!! august marks the beginning of the festivities in India.. soon after friendship day we have rakhi, then fasts for karvachauth and Hoi, Navrathras and Dusshera and diwali, then bhai duj...christmas and finally New years..!!! its great time for socil bonding... i m back after 4 years to be with my family and celebrate it..!!! i m eagerly looking forward to it..!! wat about u people..?? how is it at ur place..?? do u celebrate these..?? share ur views here... happy friendship day..!!!

hi indian, i am too. i am from assam. but as u have mantioned we don't celebrate all those. we have rakhi, then kati bihu, biswakarma puja, durgapuja, rass , laxmi puja, diwali, holi and so on.... what is navarathras? happy friendship day.

good to meet u..!! navrathras, are 8 day program before diwali..in these days they worship the 8 faces or roops of Goddess Durga, like Goddess Kali and others.. also, in many places these are days before dusshera where on the 10th day, Ravana, according to Hindu mythology is killed by Lord Rama...!! these have different meanings in different parts of our country, u see... hope this helps... if u want more info..i would be happy to help u...
