Today I read an article. A man was born in a poor family. To let his parents live a good life, he studied very hard. When he grows up, he became a successful designer. So he let his parents live a cosy and comfortable life. But unfortunately his parents suffered disease which was caused by a long period of rest and expensive diet. Actually he love his parents so he wants them to live well. But his parents just couldn't adapt to the quick switch. In this case love may be selfish. Do you agree?

no that would not be something called a selfish love, selfish love happens when the person loves someone and does everything for her/him and ignores others, he/she forgets all his/her friends and only concentrates everything into their loved ones. Such cases are pathetic sometimes.

The case which you have described is selfish love indeed. Just as you have said, even if we love someone, we shouldn't hurt people who love us. Thank you!

This not at all a good enough example of Love is selfish. I dont find anything selfish in this. if this is a real story, I have the highest regard- almost worshipful- for the person. As an Indian in thought and spirits my head bows low in respect for this man.The millions of examples of ,the selfishness of love that are legion, are in the stances taken by and the unopposed acqueiscing by consenting partners to exclude or throw out the parents as obstacles in their enjoyment. I only wish I got to read this article and I got the physical of Email Address of this man. I would relieve him of nay of his guilt. I would consider this as the best service, I can do to a thankful son.We see more examples of the prodigal scoundrel these days.

hmmm I wouldn't call that selfish love, everyone has choices and all of us could take the best of any situation, no matter what is put in front of us we should still look after our selves and think what is for the better, I think it is a generous love, his parents must have enjoyed what they were doing at the time.
