Any suggestions for me?

hello everyone! I'm at a loss about my future. I'm studying English in a university in China and i'm going to be a junior student next month. It's really high time for me to think about my future life. I want to be an interpreter or some other job related to English and i think a 4 year university life is not enough for me to get a good job. So I'm thinking to apply for further study in America (probably in CA. cuz i've been there for a year) so that i could learn English much better in a country with native language. But i really don't know if i can ajust myself to the new place, different people and customs. i'm kindhearted and gentle and polite and a little bit shy. I've got scholarship but i regard myself an ordinary girl. Is it really appropriate to go abroad? I do like America but i'm worried if i can't make any friends there. I need your suggestions, guys. Thanks a lot!

Moving to a completely different environment can be quite devastating and it can be quite difficult but if you are determined enough I think you can make it. I know you know what you need to do, if you want to reach for your dreams then you do have to make sacrifices. You said you plan to be in CA a place you lived in before then, there's your answer, you can made it for a year then, then you know that you'll be able to make it, you know you can do it. Just forge ahead and do your best.

Thank you so much! It's very hard to leave home and start a new life in a totally different place. I'm always thinking whether this is the right decision if i choose to go? What would my life be like if i had gone through this? But anyway, i would get the qualification first.

if you behave well and politely, you will surely find many friends there.

hiya, i don't know about america but foreign students here (uk) usually have a good time even if they are a bit shy. you might also find that it's actually easier to be outgoing in a foreign language. i'm sure you'd make friends and i think it would be a great experience. jb

If I were you, I would like to go abroad to experience something new, something interesting, something different from the life I am living now. I think the education in America is advanced, and you could find many opportunities for yourself. Do not worry. Just try! You will succeed in the end!
