Should people of between 60 and 65 be obliged to retire from their jobs in order to make way for younger workers?

No, I don't think anyone should be obligated to retire. And it depends on what the company is offering for retirement. Maybe this person is very healthy and can go on working until he's 70. right now, I'm looking for work. I'm 52. I would like to retire at 60, I think that's a good age. But at 60, I'm still going to have a mortgage payment, probably still have some credit card debt and I'll still have the utility bills to pay. I used to say, and I meant it, if I won 5 million dollars, I would still work. Not at the same job I was working at, (the one that let me go) and not full time. Now, no. 1 million, yes, I would probably still look for work, but I would take my time looking for a company that I like. In fact, I would probably have to love working there. You have one million. First of all you have to subtract taxes on that. Now say you buy a half way decent car, pay off your mortgage and credit card and buy a few things. That one million can quickly turn to 6 or 7 hundred thousand. Now, lets say youmhave an illness or something that requires surgery. Yoy may have even purchased some health insurance, which is whaqt I would do, but there are deductibles, certain things that are not covered. So I would still like to have some income coming for spending money other than the interest I'm getting.
