I read on a website that it was very important to take WHEY protein, that everybody should take it. Those in training should take it and those who need to loose weight should take it too as it helps to control calorie intake. Please have a read of the article you may find it helpful. www.universeofsuccess.com/why-protein-shakes-are-excellent-for-every-body.html

I don't think you specifically need whey protein, because a lot of vegetarian athletes are doing just fine without it. But protein is certainly important. I follow the 50-25-25 plan where 50% of my calories are from carbs, 25% from protein, and 25% from fat. Sometimes I actually end up getting too much protein though, which shocks people since I am vegan. But people just don't realize that protein is in almost everything.

Thanks Pigglies, we're vegetarinas but don't eat egg, but do have natural dairy products here. How how did your training go yesterday, when's the race? I went cycling instead yesterday.

Yesterday I didn't train since I volunteer on Sundays. Although, I think chasing down sea lions and restraining them should certainly count as a workout! Today I will definitely have to do some type of a workout though. Tuesday I'm doing hill training where we all run up and down a steep hill over and over again.

whey protein is significant in your diet if you have proper fitness program or physically active and those who are in loose weight and loose fat it is also important because the more lean muscle we have the more we burn more fats/calories..
