Why do toy makers make creepy toys?

I work in toy store and we just got in one of the creepyest toys I have ever seen. It is a boxing Santa Clause pen (I know I know, don't ask why we are getting Christmas stuff in August) And when you push the buttons to make Santa Box, his eyes light up. Sounds like a nice novel pen right? Well his eyes light up RED. AND HE LOOKS EVIL! So my question is why do toy makers make creepy toys? And why do people buy them?

I have seen pens like that for other holidays too. It isn't soo creepy when it is a skeleton or a jackolantern with creepy light up eyes, but santa? I am sure someone looked at the ones fromother holidays like halloween and said, well those went over pretty well...lets do them for christmas too! Unfortunately that is how many things come about...that and the strive to constantly have something new, never seen before and novel to sell. Someone out there will buy them. I take care of all of the seasonal product in my store, and i am interested to see if when we get our christmas items in, i get any pens like this..i will certainly have to check them out if i do!

The box has them listed as Jolly Jabbers. It comes as an assortment of Santa, Frosty and Rudolf. Rudolf doesn't look to bad because his nose lights up. But Frosty and Santa are both blood lusting freaks! Let me know what you think when/if you get them in.

Blood lucting freaks *lmao*....is it any wonder there are some little kids out there who freak out whenever they get near a person in a santa suit? they probably think he is going to attick them vampire style and releive them of all their blood!

It's all a matter of opinion whether a toy looks creepy. It's when there haunted thats scary like Robert the doll from Key West.

I am not familier with that one. What is the story behind Robert the doll? I know that it is a matter of opinion but I think, as do most of the customers that I have asked, that a Santa with glowing eyes and boxing gloves is strange but a Santa with red glowing eyes that boxes is just plain creepy and they wouldn't buy it for their kids.

Maybe it's to scare children. Honestly I don't know but many adults collect toys so probably it's for them (I hope!). And I can't think of any reason to buy a creepy toy.
