Moderators?

Hi guys, I just want to ask you a question.. Have you ever wanted to become a moderator of your favorite site? Like in PTCs or on other forums? I posted a topic in a not-so-popular, new earning site, and I was overwhelmed when the admin sent me a personal message and offered me to become his moderator. I really didn't intend to become a mod of his site, but the offer came, I dunno what went into my mind but I just accepted it. Problem is I dunno what other things should a moderator do, other than checking the forum from time to time. There are some member problems that I dunno how to answer, and only the admin can. Sometimes I dunno what to do..

Congrats! don't worry about that thing because ,normally, the Administrator will let you know what is your job function. If it happens to forum base like myLot, you have to observe the current running discussion done by members and clear up any spamming activity exists on that forum board. Much easier if that forum site running on bulletin board type of forum. Don't worry, very easy.

As a moderator; 1. I really am confused on which should I do. Must read and understand all rules and terms of use. Learn how to react with polite language because a moderator justly like a waiter who cherish guests at one hotel. Welcome newbies by letting know the keys of earning program on that site. Much better, provide authentic links to it and always on offer help basis. 2. Should I post a question if I have questions on my mind? Yes, why not. Especially, the keys how to maximize earnings and telling members by sharing plagiarism works must not be practice on that site. Your post must contains win-win-situation between the site owner and members. Pacify any unruly or arrogant members with your polite words to make them happy with your words and enjoy postings on that site. 3. Should I post something like I need help? No. Your any type of problem must settle with Administrator ONLY. 4. There really are confusions, change from my usual routine to a bigger responsibility. Anyway, I must be thinking overly. Not a problem at all. This is the perfect time to level up your self-confident. It is not a responsibility, it is a support.

I would like to become a mod. I think I can handle and be the moral police. :)

Ok, if you really want to become a mod, try to become visible on the forum sites, especially in the problems and doubts sections, not as topic starter but a topic solver. lol. Its easy if you have a previous experience, but for the first timers like me, can't say anything yet....

Do not worry and I would like to congratulate first of all that you have become a moderator of a site. All you have to do is see that users are following the rules of the website or not. Ask the admin of the site who offered you moderator work, what are your duties and works.. He will explain your duties about the site.. Enjoy the work and all the best from me.. :)

I am a moderadtor on another site that i go on. First thing i can suggest is to read the forum rules, that will tell you a lot about how things work there. Dont be afraid to ask admin questions and post stuff in the admin room if you have one. Watch out for spammers and trolls and try to make sure everyone is playing by the rules, i hope you enjoy your new role as a moderator :)

Ok. Thanks. I already have read the forum rules. It was just simple, but I think there are some deficiencies that should be supplemented. The rules were set to general, no specific rules were provided. I messaged him thru personal message but I have not received any response from him..

Moderators do just that - moderate. All you have to do is be familiar with the rules of the site so that you know which posts to delete, which people to warn, ect... Don't worry if there are questions you can't answer, you can't be expected to know everything, just ask the admins so you know how to answer next time.

Ok, thank you for this info. I really am anxious about my new role. I might not satisfy the admin, so I'm getting paranoid.. lol.. He is not always visible on the forum, I am left with the other mod but he seemed not to be helping in the main forum, you know, stucked himself in his non-english subforum..By the way, I think I am just a mod on my subforum just like him, and not a global one.
