Today, almost everybody are giving adulation to former Pres. Cory Aquino for all what she had done in restoring democracy in the Philippines as well as rallying the Filipino People towards living democratic life. Indeed, Pres. Aquino leaves a legacy. However, do you feel the fruits of these deeds? Are you enjoying the benefits of the freedom gained by the People Power Revolution of 1986?

Well the only thing that is very visible is her style of leadership. She has demonstrated leading a nation in humility but strength in times of challenges. She has demonstrated a leader that is not too much hungered by power but is willing to share and even give up when the time comes to an end in her term. Those were the qualities I admire in here. Her fervent desire and passion to make the Philippines better till the end of her life. She only valued two things in her life and that is her family and her nation.

rsa, your descriptions of Pres. Cory Aquino are suited to her to the max. But, I wonder if those greatness gained by the Filipino through her efforts are being felt down to the grassroot levels. I do like Mrs. Aquino and it is worth emulating her. Thank you so much for your reaction.

Of course, i feel it. Because for more than 20 years the Philippines was governed by a dictatorship and the Edsa People power revolution paved the way to restore freedom. Through the efforts of Former pres. Corazon C. Aquino and through the unity of the people coupled with prayer, faith and common beliefs in peaceful governance. The democracy is restore. Their are many leader who know to govern, but cannot lead the people. She is a charismatic leader and with alliance with the faithful. Who could contradict with the plan of God, during the 1986 people power? No one could defeat God's will. i believe everything happen with a purpose and god choose her to be an instrument of peace and unity in the society...Truly, Filipinos are very proud to show to the world that freedom could be attain through peaceful protest without advocating violence..Who could forgot the scene..child, women offering or giving flowers to full battle gear military in uniform with tanks? This is appreciated throughout the world th courage of Filipinos loved for peace freedom is truly remarkable..a feat which still unmatched till this days...

Indeed, toiling with that 20 dictatorial years was so painful. Of course, I discerned that from my parents because I was still too young to know those things then. Truly, Pres. Aquino was and is still the charismatic leader the whole world admired. Thank you for the response, neelianoscet.
