What do you do when you can't sleep?

What are some things you do when you can't sleep? I am trying to rest because I have to wake up in a few hours for the gym and also for a job interview. I need to stop going to sleep late because it is really messing my schedule and sometimes I don't get enough sleep. Any suggestions?

if i cant sleep, i just lie in bed and imagine things === anything. daydreaming at night hehehe... sometimes i read a book and watch a movie till i feel drowsy and sleepy... even i slept 3-4 hours on that night, i always wake up the same time everyday...

I usually do that but then I go on the internet and stay there for hours and still can't sleep afterwards. Unlike you I can't wake up at the same time everyday, it just doesn't happen with me. In a few hours I have a job interview and I have to go to the gym, I will probably fall asleep then! Thanks for the response!

As a solution to your minor-insomnia - you might want to try some light sleeping pills - the ones containing valeriana. They don't necessarily make you sleepy, but they calm you down, allowing you to "pass out" more easily. Ofcourse - heavy physical excercise also works and tires your system, making it demand for more sleep.

I don't have any pills right now. :( It rarely happens to me, I usually sleep like a baby, but today I might be a little anxious about upcomming things! Thank you for the response. :)

Well now a days I tend to sleep a lot better than I usually do. I just have to make sure that I don't nap during the day so I actually sleep at night. So, when I can't sleep, I usually get up and do something like read, watching tv or grab a snack if I'm hungry. I try not to lay in bed too much because you're not supposed to lay in bed unless you're going to sleep it messes with your mind. I've noticed anymore that the moment I lay down in bed I start to get a bit drowsy. It's important not to do anything too stimulating before bed or drink too much caffeine or anything or you'll definitely end up screwing up your sleep schedule.

When I can't sleep, I'll usually get up and do something, like read a book, go online, get a glass of milk or something like that. It usually helps, but there are just those times, when it doesn't do much. It's something that you can certainly try to do. Another thing that helps me sometimes is just laying in bed and imagining things. Daydreaming in a way.

Hi leprosa.When I am unable to sleep I try to relax,drink water ,read books and listen to music That I like most . these steps are enough.to make me sleep. happy mylotting.

I watch my favorite television series like a marathon runner until my eyes get tired. Also, i also surf the internet until my eyes and fingers get tired. if all this are not effective to drive me sleep i read a books with a soothing music like a lullaby then I just fall to sleep and enter my dreams..
