I have sold a few things on ebay and made some cash but I'm curious to know if ebay is anybodys main source of income or provides a fairly reasonable extra income. Also do you ahve any tips for creating good listings for myself and other mylot users?

As of know, ebay is my onlly surce of income. Ive earned about 1000 dollars selling on ebay in just the last 2 months. It really depends what you sell on ebay before it can determine whether you can make a living off of it. If you have an ebay store and are constantly selling then sure it can keep you going. If you are just looking to sell some odds and ends from arround the house then it might not be the best way to make a living. Your income might be great at first but sooner or later you will run out of things to sell. So unless you make a business out of it then you arent going to get far.

I use ebay to sell my childrens clothes and toys and any unwanted items around the home. I agree, you need to have a clear picture and be accurate with your description. Also, be reasonable with your postage costs. I also buy on ebay and always look at how much somebody charges for postage, probably as I am aware of the costs. I dont make a living on ebay, but I have sold used items in the past for more than I have paid for them new which gives you a real buzz. I think you would have to find a real niche to do that as I find whatever you search for now, there are lots of items on there, But I find it exciting when people are bidding om my items. If you are to make some money, you also need to think about the times your listing ends depending on what you are selling.ie - If you rae selling something that might be hobby related, it would be better to finish it at a weekend when people are off work. Hope this helps, and good luvk with your new venture.

No it's not my main source of income...but it would be great if it could be. The one tip I could suggest would be to take clear pictures. Show your potential customers exactly what they are buying. The better you show off your items and the more honest you are with your descriptions... the more buyers will trust you. When you earn that trust, you'll find these customers coming back to bid on more of your items. The more bids an item get...the more $$ you make!
