Other than my handmade sea glass jewelry, I haven't done very much creating. I still have a couple of scarves in progress, but very desire to get back to them right now. I have lots of sea glass that isn't jewelry quality. I have them in jars by the window sill, on the entertainment center...anywhere that get a little bit of sunlight during the day. And then I remembered an idea I had years ago about making mosaics with some of the pieces. So I spread out a couple cans of smaller pieces one evening after dinner and played with the pieces... after playing for awhile, I had made a couple sailboat images, a dragonfly, a butterfly and a turtle (shown below) I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my new creations...maybe keep a few for myself and maybe put them in my Etsy shop...not sure yet, but i thought I'd share my newest creations with my myLot crafting friends! So what's on your crafting table?

I know you have seen mine....the water bottle carriers. I am also busy making cards for one of our local scrapping stores which sells cards for a cause. They will be sold then the money will be used at Christmas for a needy family....so I want to get a bunch of them done and in the store! You new creation is very cute!

Wow, that's very nice of you to create for good causes. The scarves I mentioned in my thread (the ones I can't bring myself to get back to) are for a local food bank. I'll be giving them a bunch of scarves to hand out to the neediest people the this winter and they may be doing a craft show to sell some of the others to raise money for the food bank (this past year the amount of families coming in for help have doubled and the amount of food donated has gone down) Hopefully the scarves will keep people warm/or help the food bank feed a few people this winter. Thanks for responding!!

You are so creative. How cute and clever. I haven't been working on any crafts for the last month or so. Was out of town and busy helping with our grandbaby in town. I did quit working so will have more time in the winter to attempt new projects. Am only interested in working with plastic canvas and trying to create anything new and different. Last project I completed and gave to a friend for her grandbaby was a Sesame Street tissue cover. It turned out great. I haven't wandered into the the area of making jewelry or anything that requires learning new techniques. Good luck with sales regarding your new project on Etsy.

It might be awhile before I tackle another craft. Am enjoying this grandbaby to the fullest. She's the only grandchild we have close to us. The others are ni Indiana and New Mexico. Sure miss them.

Hi Carolbee! I like my new project because I can spread all my sea glass out on the table and play around with the pieces. It's like taking 2 or 3 puzzles and mixing them all together...lol I've used the dining room table to spread all my sea glass onto...so we've been eating in the living room, around the coffee table for 4 or 5 nights I can't wait to hear about your new creations...let us know when you start back up....and enjoy your grandbaby...they don't stay babies for very long. Take care and thanks for responding!

Nice mosaic work! Beautiful :-) I haven't got any regular crafting going right now. I am doing some wood work in my shop. I just took my uncles sled, from the late 1800's and repurposed it into a handy dandy media bookcase lol. It's one of those really old wooden sleds, with the thick wooden runners. I made shelves to fit in between the sides and made the shelves just the right size for cd's, and other media storage. Worked out great, and it's unsual. Fits right into my decor and antiques lol. I do other crafting in the winter when I'm cooped up in the house, and in the warm weather I like to do wood projects.

Wow that sounds awesome...what a great recycle/upcycle idea! I know lots of folks that would love to buy something like that. I have this thing for old sleds...I remember riding my dad's old sled when I was a kid, so I guess that's where that love for old sleds comes from. If you ever get the chance, i hope you can upload an image of your awesome creation...I would love to see it! Thanks for responding!
