Blogger is free and easy to use. It's good for beginners, but you won't be able to have multiple pages. All you can have is one long page. Wordpress, on the other hand, is also good. But if you have your blog hosted on their site, wordpress.com, you won't be allowed to use it for business activities. But their blogging platform (the content management system) is excellent for those who have their blogs hosted somewhere else. You can download the Wordpress publishing platform from wordpress.org. I use Blogger for now, but I will be switching to Wordpress once I am able pay for my hosting account and buy my own domain.

Both are good sites. Wordpress give free software to host your own blog. This blog will give you more independence. You can customise this blog according to your will. But in the wordpress sponsored blog you cannot do that.

Each has it's plus's, it really depends on what you want out of your blog. With blogger, you can get indexed faster and I think in some cases ranked sooner. But blogger has control over you blog and people have lost there blog because of different infractions. I don't know how often this happens, but it's something to research and consider before establishing your blog with them. You have the added benefit of being able to monetize your blog on this free platform, also. If you use the free version of wordpress, you cannot monetize. So, if you are just writing for pleasure...wordpress can be awesome. If you decide you want to earn monies using this blogging platform, consider hosting you blog...acquiring a domain name...and building a blog using a very versatile system...
