Getting company gives me incentive!

I am getting overnight company later in the week. I have been scrubbing and dusting and shining every mirror. I also went and bought new sheets and pillows which were long overdue! I sometimes do so many other things like crafting that some of the updates here go by the way side. But by the time they arrive the whole house should look spiffy! Does getting company or celebrating an ocassion at your house give you more incentive to deep clean?

Yes it sure would. I don't have much company since two of the bedrooms have been converted. One is a junk room and the other a computer room. I do have an extra bed in the computer room. When our youngest daughter comes in town, she stays with our middle daughter who has a much bigger house. Enjoy your company.

i so know what you mean. i try to maintain at least getting the first layer of dirt off the floor (kids, pet, not enough time, you know what i mean) and we dont have company often, but when we do, i like the house to look really good. by the way, christmas is at OUR house this year, so you know what that means!!

SOUNDS LIKE U ARE A BUSY BEE, i THINK MOST EVERYBODY TRYS TO GET ALL SPIFFED UP FOR COMPANY. i TRY TO KEEP MINE where if company drops in i want be ashamed of how my house looks. Of course i can't work anymore so that's about all i have to do is keep my house in pretty good shape. Enjoy your company.

Yes it dose I do the same thing I wash the floors the mirriors do the rugs just for maybe one night crazy or what I get extra food in as well that I can cook in the slow cooker ....

I am the same the whole house gets cleaned and everything polished up when company is expected. Having everyone comfortable and well fed is something I take pride in.I love having company someone different to talk to.Getting ready and making a cake is a real joy to me,especially if you don't see to much of them.

I do the same thing. Maybe I should have visitors more often my house might stay clean and organized more often.

Yep! I pretty much only deep clean when I expect company, or when for some odd reason the mood strikes me! Otherwise I'll do what I feel needs to be done and that's that.

Well Duh!!
Even my hubby gets into cleaning even if it's for my company. He's becoming a much better house keeper than I am. I'm very lucky. If he goes back to work, I don't know how I'll be able to keep up. I should have said, when he goes back to work. Have a good time with your company. hugsss

Oh for sure! When I know that I am having company coming I just go crazy! I want everything to look good, feel good, smell good etc! I clean like a maniac, spray linens, wax floors, get fresh flowers and all kinds of other stuff. I also buy a lot of food that I don't normally keep around, special munchies and drinks.
