Difference B2N Portable & full version software!!!!

What is the different between a portable version software and a full version software? Example Adobe Photoshop....

I'm not a software specialist, but here's how I understand the whole portable software affair... When you install a full version, the software files create connections to the system files of your computer, and you can only use the software on the computer it's been installed. On the other hand, the portable version is not linked to a specific system - it can be carried around on CDs or USB flash devices without copying files which are connected to the operating system.

Normally, I assume the full version is better to use, if you install it on a computer you are constantly using. It creates connections to the operating system and it is by that faster than a portable version. The portable version is useful when you know you will work on other computers, where you can't install any software you want, and when you don't know if these computers have the software you need.
