Do You Think Parents Should Put Their Young Children on Facebook?

I have viewed some Facebook posting or videos. Some of the videos show little children dancing, doing many suggestive moves and wearing very sexy outfits. I could only watch with astonishment, wondering what were the parents thinking and what did they wish to accomplish? There are too many child preadors surfing the net. Now I don't think facebook shows personal profiles or contact information, but still I would not display my childrenin that fashion. Would you? Do you think this is proper for a parent to do?

seven times now lost my response no never pput their kids videos on face book, this begs for trouble and is so stupid. I think it should be prohibited to begin with. mylot is really acting up here but hopefully I can get this response through and no contact information should ever be put out. there are predators out there.

Hi, I agree with you that there are predators out there looking to harm children . I don't think I would put my children's picutres anywhere on the internet, facebook or youtube where the videos are.

These are the same people who use their children as their avitar on other sites. I do not think it is a good idea, but at the same time no one thinks twice about putting their sticker family complete with names on the back of the mini van. I have myspace and I have every privacy/security setting on that I can find. You are right there are too many people out there looking to harm children to post their pictures up on the web.

Hi angelgirl16, A big no to putting young children on Facebook. Children might think it´s all fun and the in thing to do but they don´t realise what the outcome of any of all that might be. Children are exposed to too many influences around them. All Children should be protected in the adverts on the Television and in the Cinema too.

I don't think that parents should do that, because it is very dangerous. As you said, there are too many predators out there, and it is far too easy to find out where people live and track them down. You hear about it on the news all the time. I avoid putting personally identifiable information about myself on the internet, and I definitely do not put my children on here. On the rare occasion when I do put a picture of my children on a website, I never show their faces. It is usually an action picture showing one of them doing something, for example blowing out candles on a birthday cake, taken from behind them. One time I found out that someone had put a picture of one of my children on their Facebook page, and I asked them to take it down immediately. They did and apologized, but they never even thought to find out whether or not I would mind them putting the picture up. It never occurred to them that it might be dangerous!
