What is Twitter and WHY is twitter?

All i get on there is scams!! what is Twitter? is it SUPPOSED to be like that?

Twitter is a site in which you "follow" people. it's lie facebook except you can't talk to them. so it's a stalker version of a social networking site.

I don't get it. I don't have a twitter account. I don't really know anything about it. It makes no sense to me.

I guess you need to be more choosy in picking which people to follow so you can get more valuable updates on your twitter page. twitter, like any other social networking sites, is valuable once you learn the trick of using it to your advantage. ;)

after i signed up in twitter, twitter is simple in appearance compared to facebook,just look as common chatroom, i am not very interested in what guys talk about,and don't know how does twitter earn huge fame and money, similar as some famous communities in my country.
