Is Aquino-Marcos reconciliation possible?

History tells us that the Aquinos and Marcoses have been enemies since the martial law days, especially when former senator Ninoy Aquino was assassinated in 1983. Now that President Cory Aquino is gone, the issue of reconciliation between the two families has been opened again. For me, it's easy to say to reconcile but the truth still remains the same. It cannot be denied that there were wounded hearts, and lives destroyed including the alleged killers of Ninoy. What's your opinion? No hurting words, please. Thanks!

I was shocked to witness Bong Bong Marcos and Imee Marcos exchanging hand with the Aquinos and giving their condolences to them. That is warm touch for me. A past enemy is there for you, grieving with you and trying to make you strong by going there in your mother’s wake. I think past hurt is already healed, although it is hard to forget the past. I guess they just put aside what happen with them and think of the present situation. The present situation is more important. The Marcos’s just went there to pay respect to the late president and the Ninoy’s was welcoming what they can give. It is a very good example that we should always remember. That is for me a once in a lifetime opportunity that anyone of them did not let pass and admire both of them.

I think they are only political foes between these two famous families of your country. Remember in politics there are no permanent enemies. It is high time that these two families reconcile as the main players of the political games are no longer around. It is left for the children and one widow to forget and forgive what had transpired a decade ago. If they believe in their faith then they should believe in forgiveness.

Anything is possible all they need is to find it in their hearts. this kind of reconciliation should come from themselves. hindi pwedeng pilitin. it is true that they both have wounded hearts but time heals all wounds. it may never be the same again but reconcilliation is a good way to open a new communication and people look up to this both families. in the way our government is turning out today a reconciliation within this two families open a lot of doors for a good government.

yeap.. i think its possible.. i am a tarlaqueno and i am a witness of all the great things this family did.. they are well known of having a good heart, GOD fearing and they always help those people who are in need.. they never neglected their responsibilities of being the leader who led the province in the right track.. and having a good heart, i believe that they can certainly forgive the marcoses for all the sins they've done not only to them but also to the filipino people.. that's why i am very much proud of being a filipino especially being a tarlaqueno because of them.. they made us very much proud of who we are..

Hey there! I really wish it were possible but we have to face reality. It's not going to happen. I think there is too much anger and dislike on the side of the Aquino's and I don't blame them. They were two political rival families and with everything that happened back in the Marcos Era between the two families, I really don't think the Aquino's would be willing to reconcile.

Yeah, that is true they all doing the sort of reconciliation for a show. that is how politics here in our country like show business they need a sort of publicity because the 2010 election is nearer. how could you forgive someone who have been accuse for more than a decade of the probable mastermind in the slaying of their own father/ Former Sen. Benigno Aquino. as a normal people maybe their is a negotiation and half truth in real reconciliation. I am witness to Philippines history when former Pres. Aquino become president she never allowed the body of former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos to be buried in the Philippines within her terms. Even, the political prisoners with the last interview of Sen. Noynoy he do not like them to be release? Now, they are saying for reconciliation? Now, the focus of their hatred fall to Pres. Gloria Arroyo..when the family Aquino and with the help of their supporters outcast pres. Estrada during the EDSA dos? What really confusing scenario for many Filipinos..Whose sides they gonna take side on? very confusing..indeed..
