Well, Finanally I'm going to be able to pay my credit card and other debts since I decided to start fresh. I decided that I don't want anymore debts ,and I refuse to live on credit. From now on my instant gratification is going to wait since I refuse to continue paying excessive interest from those abusive credit card companies. From now on only debit cards are allowed. Anybody feels the same way as me.

Thats good to hear your able to pay off your credit card. Credit Card is only good for emergencies, when you need quick cash, other then that, it is a rip off. Yeah, I have a credit debit card also, its useful for online transactions, and uses your own money instead of the banks money, so you can budget properly or something like that.

Yes, I agree that is a big rip off. I'm going to try to build an emergency fund ,so I don't even use any credit card for emergencies.

Yeah I think emergency funds sounds better. Its good to have cash in high interest savings (interest is about 4-5% percent now), you don't know when you'll need it.

Hi Mirita, I think you have the right idea and those who can do so should follow suit. The credit card companies need to be put under some guidelines anyway, no one should be allowed to charge such rates. I have one credit card and use it sparingly. Hopefully I will be able to pay the complete balance soon. Blessings.

Well, I was only 3 days late this past month and they increase the rate to 29.99%. Thank God, I was able to pay the full amount. I hope the new Bill of Rights signed by president Obama helps other people. For a customer that has always been on time this is abusive behaviror.

I have doscovered something wonderful, in the credit card department. I have obtained pre-paid cards from banks in Canada, and in the United States. These cars only use the money that I already have in the bank. That way I don't go into debt, and I don't end up spending money that I don't have.

Well, this is similar to a debit card ,and to me is a great idea to prevent people from ending up in debt.

I applaud you for that. I got a credit card probably later in life than most people. For five straight years I paid off the balance in full every month. Well, life happens and my health declined, and I got on disability. I still have my credit card, but I've made changes. I asked my credit card company to keep my limit low, and not to ever raise it. And even though I cannot pay off the balance in full, I pay way more than the minimum balance. For the past several months I've hardly put anything on my credit card. Unless it is an emergency (an emergency usually ends up being I get a prescription my health insurance won't cover, so I have to pay out of pocket and it's not a $4 Walmart prescription, lol).

That was very smart of you to request for them to keep you limit low because they know how to play with people's feelings. You need your prescriptions ,so in your situation you have to get your medicine to keep yourself in good health.

It's great that your getting things straightened out. It is so easy to fall into the debt hole and it's harder than Hades to dig yourself out. We've been working a little at a time to dig ourselves out too. No more credit cards for us. We have a debit card and that's it. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

Yes, credit cards can be addictive ,and they love it when they can charge you a lot of interest because this is how they earn millions of dollarss from consumers.
