Dress code where you work?

Do you have a strict dress code or can you wear what you like? What would you wear if you didn't have a dress code? From my previous company, we are required to wear corporate attires every Monday and business casual attire during Tues-Thursdays. Fridays are like dress down days for us.

I wear a uniform so there is little flexibility. Our shoes must be flat and black and we're supposed to wear only black socks. We are not permitted to wear anything over our tunics.

Ooops...forgot the second part... if there were no uniform I would just have a couple of sets of plain trousers/tops which I'd keep specifically for work as I wouldn't want to wear anything good in that job.

I think that wearing uniforms is much cheaper than providing your own stuffs to wear at work. I wish that we can have that rule as well. lol

it is business casual attire for me from monday to friday. but i always have extra smart business clothes which i place on my cabinet just in case the boss suddenly gives assignment such as attenting functions in his behalf. you see, sometimes a new appointments comes in and he is already set to attend another so he sends me in his stead. ann

In my current company, there is no strict regulation for what attire you should wear, just be presentable is ok. But the attire you wear must have a neckline, which no neckline is not permitted. yippee

I work as a freelance musician, mostly playing for weddings. If I'm doing a solo gig, I discuss with the bride what I should wear and choose something appropriate. I also play with a string quartet, and for that the dress code is usually "concert black," meaning that I need to wear a semiformal black dress or skirt. I don't mind it much, except for having to wear pantyhose. At least the musicians don't have to wear the same dresses the bridesmaids wear...the last wedding I played at had hideous bridesmaid's dresses.

In my previous company, we do have to adhere to dress code, which are some uniforms provided.. and later, we have to get strictly on black or white collar shirt, with black or khaki colour pants.. Now, with the company that I am working on, we don't have dress code anymore, as long as it's presentable.. so, we are allow to wear jeans on all days.. yippee

yes, i consider your line.. that it should be presentable. but i guess that companies who have graveyard shifts should also consider those employees who are going out late at night. :D

I'm working in a museum, so as soon as I have some work in office, I can wear what I like, but if it's exhibition opening, press-conference or any other public event, or I'm just working with visitors that day, I prefer corporate attire. Although it's not strictly regulated.

I work in a IT company,we have a clothing company, especially for those of us who daily come into contact with staff and customers, clothing must be clean. This is a business culture, I think this is very good, there is a good coporate culture, business atmosphere. Can be a good result. Of course, the work will be pleasant and easy.
