How many of you actually got revenge rating?

I think most of us have had a revenge rating. I stopped checking posts at "religion" although I´m interested in the subject. But it seems there are a bunch of fanatics who will do anything to hurt someone who thinks different. I would have had the same problems in politics but in this site the only politics they talk about ids local politics from the US. As I am chilean, there´s not much I can say about that and I don´t feel comfortable saying it. I do think though that energy saving wouldn´t be a subject that got so hot as to rate with a minus. I´m sure you´ll get your ratings back (beginning by mine right now. I hate injustice. Have a nice day!!!

Well, I don't know my rating yet, but thanks for warning. When people post controversial responses that are quality, I usually don't rate them at all.

I generally try to remain positive and be constructive with my posts thus not giving anyone reason to downmark me. If I disagree with something or someone, I don't criticise them or tell them they are wrong, I will put something like "It's difficult for me to cast judgement on this without knowing all the facts but when considering A. B. and C. I think this..." I am giving a general answer and that's it. If I don't like what someone writes about my post I rate the response negative, I don't let it provoke me into biting back and getting personal in posts. Also, you can rely on other people using their own initiative and also rating the comments negative which will hopefully give this person a jolt into reality.

i dont know my friend if i have tried it. well i dont do revenge to friends or even to those mylotters who leaves such sarcastic remarks and a very bad one. i still rated them positively. i dont think negatively to them. we have different individuals with different mind set and views. so i always accept such criticisms and still thatnk them for it. i hope they would see it that way. though i know we done have the same meaning thru things but i just hope they look at it that way. i always wanted to help not the other way around. jhelai

That is really bad! Even when you read mylots faqs on ratings they say that you are not supposed to rate anybody negative only because you feel that the other person's views are in contrast with you. It is a serious issue and i think you should complain about it to mylot. This may help them to keep a close track on those giving your unnecessary negative rating. All the best :)

Yeah well there will always someone out there who doesn't like another's views on something and they are bound to try to hurt them one way or another, yes it has happened to me and really when you begin to speak on political things it really comes out. I have seen my star change numbers many times this last week alone since I put up a couple political posts. It happens.

What I'd like to know is, what is revenge rating? And, does it really matter? Why would anyone want to do that. If your rating has gone down could it be because the question didn't rate (pun intended) a mention? I'd really like to know. PS How do you know your rating has gone down? Haven't been on that long so am unsure.

i never got a revenge rating. because how am i suppose to know who rated me bad. so i like to give ratings to people who get picked on. and thats sad people like you is who i give good ratings because i hate it when people put a minus just because they don't like your response. i wonder what bad ratings for are anyway. because i never got one response that was just so wrong and mean and not what i was talking about.

Right now I can't rate. I'm not sure if it is the site or my computer, since I'm new on here but I could rate the first two days and now I can't. Either way, I would rate somebody a "+" for a good response, but I just wouldn't rate the response if I didn't think it was a good one. I guess that if someone got really rude and nasty with me I might give them a negative rating, but that hasn't happened (and hopefully it won't) so I am not sure.
