Who here suffers from depression, anxiety, or any form of any type of mental illness or any type of disorder regarding such? I have had years of depression, and am very interested in learning of all angles of the world of hardships people endure due to chemical imbalances. Please share your story, situation, or observance from someone who is close to you.

You are asking a sort of a diary from us. Things are long and not simple to explain. Chemical imbalances have a genetic part but are also triggered by what Shakespeare would have said "the slings and arrows of outragous fortune". I think pills help reach a certain estabilisation but I have been helped also by psychotherapy. Still, nothing is perfect. One must learn to live with what one is and make the most of it. I firmly believe that every person in the world has a chronic illness of some kind. The word "normal" is just statistics. We all have some health problems and we have to learn to live with them. Being depressive is not being mentally ill. You are more fragil and you need to be cuddled more than other people. A hug!!!

I am asking sort of "diary" type entries from my fellow peers, aren't I? Of course, people do not have to explain what they experience if they do not want to. But I am interested in learning what people are willing to share, as this is in fact a factor that can change one's life, experiencing such symptoms. And I do agree with you, that we all suffer from something.

I have low blood sugar which makes my moods run low and I get anxious other things. Like others I have found yoga to big a great help especially at stopping mind chatter. Changing my diet also helps. Things like eating oily fish will lift your mood, eating complex carbs helps to level out blood sugars which keeps your mood steadier for longer. I'd recommend the Dr David Burns books which I brought from Amazon and some by Dr Bernie Siegel.

Hello Princess. How are you ? Well, I would thing every one has depression once in a while with so much stresses with many things in life. I have some times too. One way I have found very helpful in coping with depression is "Yoga" meditation. This calms down the mind and eases the depression. Meditation id very good for mental health and physical health too. You might want to try that. Have a nice day !

Yes, I totally agree that everyone experiences some sort of depression sometime in their lifetime. But my question is, what is considered "normal" or "healthy" versus one who has too many episodes of depression or one who struggles through life with the ongoing symptoms of depression?
