Well this has happened to me when I was on my way to attend an interview in another city, I had started well in advance from home as there is usually a heavy traffic in a bridge which leads to the station, but when I reached the entrance of the bridge I could find a heavy traffic and all vehicles were just in a standstill. I waited for nearly half an hour and finally started walking across the pavement of the bridge with my luggage, when I reached the station I saw the train was in the verge of leaving the station. I jumped into some coach immediately and managed to board the train, it took me several hours to come out of this tension and was wondering if I had boarded the correct train too, Finally after confirming with the other passengers I was relieved and walked through the vestibule to reach my coach and seat. From then, I made it a point to reach several hours in advance to the station and I enjoyed to sit and view the scenes there. Have you ever come across a situation like this? How did you manage?

oh! many a times! I would think that it is an odd hour of the day (or night) and I can easy cross these traffic hurdles but then to my amazement and disappointment I end up going late. But i'm very acreful when i need to board a train. Like you said, i don't mind reaching the railway stationa little early and then sit and watch other passengers activities. Before i start from home i genrally calculate the end-time of my travel but the traffic jam and signals have deceived me at the nic of the time. It also makes me wonder about my mathematic knowledge

Hi, many thanks for your response, yes it is better to reach well ahead to avoid lot of tension, not necessary that our calculations may always work. We get time to relax if we reach a place early and also have a good time seeing sights around us. Have a good day.

We do not have traffic really where I am from. When I do get stuck in some sort of stoppage I have major road rage. That is why I stay where I am and stay away from city life :)

I am a victim of traffic jams and I experience it almost everyday in my life including today. Today I went for the baby shower function of one of my colleagues taking two hour permission from work. The usual time to reach the destination from my office is 20 minutes, but Chennai traffic took us almsot one hour to reach the place and we ended up coming back late to office.

Oh! there have been many times when i gave gone through such situations. Leave alone the tension later, we fret and fume marooned by the traffic, curse them and get all the negative feelings we should not get raising our blood pressure. There have been many occasions when my friend missed the train due to this traffic jam. We are labelled a late comer for no fault of ours. So it is wise to start early to avoid these traffic jams.
