Why only good memories would only be said to those departed known people?

Most often than not, we never heard some bad memories together with the good one that would just be said and would describe to the departed popular person.
We mostly heard of purely good description of the deceased. As if she/he was perfect human before. Don't get me wrong I am not against with it...
But why is it that we never mentioned the true opposite side?
Is there any consequences if we would said some of her/his failures and setbacks?
I was just wondering why...

Maybe because we are always prone to take everything we have now for granted and don't realize that we should appreciating and treasuring them yet. When they are away from us, we miss them so much that what we can think of are almost their good points.
