Is not new that most electronics must be well ventilated to avoid overheating, improve service life etc.
That's why i bought a nice stand for my laptop. It's an stand, not a cooling stand because:
1- I dont want to drain power from my laptop's USB port
2- I dislike the sound made by fans
3- I think that putting a cooler under a laptop will blow lots of dust on it and will be worse than avoiding one.
So what do u use? an stand? a cooling stand? or just nothing
Please share your experience / opinions
Thanks in advance

Hi uchuukeiji, I haven't ever heard of a laptop stand but yesterday I posted here with a query about my lap top making an horrid noise when I first turned it on and was advised to prop the back end up with a book to stop the fan overheating. It worked thank goodness. So with something as simple as that is it any different in use to buying a proper stand or is the stand just a gimmick?

I use an stand because i'm aware of laptop's operating conditions: Cool place, not humid, indoors, and i realize that if i use my laptop on my lap with no stand, it will become hotter and electronics will damage more easily.
So i go for the laptop stand. So the laptop ventilate by herself. (yes my laptop is female, lol)
I avoid laptop stand with cooler because it will blow dust on laptop.

Such an awesome idea.. I think this is one of the best no-low cost for getting an alternative for stand and cooling fan..
