I don't generally lay in bed and think. I get tired enough that once I get into bed and relax, I am out. The television does put me to sleep pretty fast. My life runs pretty smooth. I save any worrying for daytime hours.

Well....put it this way....life is not a bed of roses, its a pendulum between tears and smiles. In my case, I might have many inner sufferings, but, I make myself laugh at everything. Yoga and Meditation will positively help.

I often have trouble sleeping. I find that it helps to keep a pad of paper & pencil beside the bed. If I think of something very important when I'm trying to get to sleep, I write to down & then I can forget about it & go to sleep. I also take Melatonin pills to help me sleep. I also go to sleep with the TV on low. I set the timer for about an hour & rarely am I still awake when the TV shuts off.

It happens to me also.I have sometimes not slept at all laying on my bed and thinking.its not a worry always that keeps me from sleeping ,just a thought and it can be anything good or bad.Now i have found a cure though.I have started read books (usually a novel) just before i go to sleep. It helps a lot .

I have been insomniac for a long time, even before I got married and this crisis but lately I have learned that there is no point of worrying about things beyond our control we do our best, other than that what happens happens I still worry about some projects. I haven't been nourishing my self properly and I am worried I may not be strong enough to complete them but I keep going and take a break in between, that's all I can do

that is how insomnia starts. maybe it is a good a day to do yoga or meditation before bedtime and not think about anything. get a good night sleep and worry about it and how to solve it in the morning. lots of meditation and hypnosis cds and tapes help. some come in dvd.

Oh my goodness I'm in the same boat as you. No matter what time I go to bed I start thinking about all my problems (and I have many). So I will lay there and toss and turn for hours. Sometimes I get up and read or watch TV. The only thing that usually ends up helping me is praying. I pray to God that I can fall to sleep. God forbid I wake up after sleeping for 2 or 3 hours that will be it. I will start to think again and then there goes my sleeptime. Its the worse thing not being able to sleep. I usually only get about 5 hours of sleep a night. That is all my body and mind allows me.

What has sometimes worked for me in the past is to do my exercising right before I go to bed. That way, I'm so exhausted from working out that I simply do not have the energy to lay awake in bed at night worrying. There are other things you can do besides exercising but my point is, try to tire yourself out before you climb into bed! If this doesn't work then you can always try drinking warm milk or listening to soothing music..

This is a common problem with people who are in some sort of trouble or at least perceive that they are in trouble. It happens to every one from time to time. I too have had it. Most of the problems that trigger this are in fact in our control. Planning and time management generally keys to completion of any work satisfactorily. I usually carry a pen and a small note book with me, even to the bed! I start with prioritizing the problems and concentrate on solutions. Sometimes I get a solution, sometimes I don't. But at least I have used my sleeplessness productively. Once the habit formed, it is easy to get ideas to solve the worries. And then, there are problems which you cannot control. I go philosophical, tell God, O.K. So I have this problem, give me strength to over come it. Once there is this surrender it is a load off my brain and I get to sleep.
