Why aren't dads given the same importance as moms?

A very peculiar situation. In any country you go, or any place you visit, moms get more prominence that dads. What makes them so special and different from dads?

I think a lot of it has to do wiht bad press on the fathers part. We are forever hearing about how bad some fathers can act towards women and their children, yet we rarely see press about bad mothers. Mothers also tend to take on the role of carer whilst men are out playing the role of the breadwinner, it is just the way society works. Its a shame really as i believe parenting is 50/50, sure women may carry a child and give birth to it but without the male factor you wouldnt have a child to give birth to in the first place.

Hi there! I think it's because moms are best known to be the more caring one. They are the ones who personally take care of the kids and the husbands. They are more prominent because moms are mostly seen to be with the kids, at school, at playgrounds and at the malls with their children. They are the ones whom kids would likely run towards to or call when they get hurt. Whenever kids would have problems, it's the moms whom they depend on too. Dads are known to be the provider of the family. But people prefer the softer of the family or a couple and usually they are the mothers. Ciao!

I am a dad already and I appreciate that you also wanted dads to be given importance. But despite that I can understand why moms are given more importance in family situations. Well for one, it is the moms who get the burden of taking the babies on the womb for nine months and risking their lives when they are delivered. It is the moms who really take care literally on their children. Of course, the father takes care of the well being of their child but when you weigh things are moms do really have the burden that is why I appreciate my wife very much for taking the bigger responsibility in maintaining home and the children.
