Terrorizing Toddler!

My 23-month-old is all over the place and in the last 5 minutes, drank half of my cup coffee that I abandoned on the kitchen table this morning, dumped his Cheez-It snack all over the couch and the living room floor and continues to take his diaper off. LOL I love him to pieces, but he sure tests me! What does your toddler do to keep you busy?

I have a two year old granddaughter and she is always finding something to keep herself busy. She likes to pull the dogs tail and he don't seem to mind, she likes to throw things in the garbage, especially her diapers that she pulls off (potty training) and she says diapers are 'nasty' but she will look for things to throw away. She did try coloring the walls but I gave her a coloring book and junk mail to color on. We couldn't find the remote to the tv after she left yesterday....here she took them and put them on the shelf under the tv...last place we looked for it! She gets into the dvd's and switches what drawer they're in. She keeps herself busy and she keeps us busy long after she goes home.

My son does very similar things-he throws his diaper away if I ask him to. Otherwise, I find things in the trash that are not meant to be thrown away-like dishes-LOL. Our walls are drawn on too in a few of the rooms around the house, and the dresser in his room is quite pretty! My son loves to color and I can keep him quite busy coloring in his siter's coloring books. In fact, that is one activity I can trust him to sit still and do for a little while!

Oh my daughter sure gets into all kinds of mischeif. She is 19 months and likes to dump dog food on the floor, throw her toys out as soon as I have picked them up, take all her magnets of the fridge and scatter them across the floor. She use to take her diaper off all the time, so we decided to switch to pull ups. They seem to work better for her. I would try putting a pair of pantys over his diapers it worked for us for a little while. They sure do like to make a mess and terrorise things, but they sure are cute doing it. Some days i want to pull my hair out, but then I remember these days won't last for ever and I might as while enjoy every cute and loving moment while they last.

I am sure we'd be concerned as parents if our kids didn't get into mischeif because that is a key component to learning and exploring boundaries. Last week, my son pushed a chair to the kitchen counter to attempt to get knives out of the knife block! He also pushed his step stool to the stove top and took a scoop of sauce out of the top of the pan while it was on!! (Thank goodness it was still cool, as I hadn't even stirred it yet, and also thank goodness he didn't touch the burner!)

LOL A toddler on coffee? Has the kid come off of the ceiling yet? That's just too funny. A friend of mine's daughter did that recently, and it was pretty funny, the way she told it. I don't have a toddler, but I have a husband who sometimes throws tantrums like a toddler. haha I threatened to glue his mouth shut the next time he does that. LOL

LOL that is funny. Well my son only drank probably a quarter cup of the coffee yesterday. I can blame my father-in-law for that one-ever since my son was an infant he has always asked him "Want some coffee?" (Just teasing, never giving him any though.) Now if my son sees a coffee cup that is within reach, he drinks it (or dumps it). Last week he got ahold of my coffee cup and dropped it on the floor breaking it. ; (

Just want to say you need to take extra care. If he is in the habit of drinking anything in a cup, do not put dangerous substances in cups and leave them lying around

I have two of them ages 2 and 3 so I am always going. My 2 year old is also in the I want to be naked stage. Thank goodness they do not dump thier food everywhere any more but it wasnt to long ago I was going through that. My 3 year old is horrible at snagging our drinks and taking off with them. My doctor keeps asking why I am always dehidrated well I have two children that is why. I can not eat in till they are in bed because even though they have the same thing on thier plate they have to eat mine. They also keep taking my oldest son apart. I will have a box spring here and a mattress there. It is nuts.

Mine used to wait until I was using the toilet... She'd quickly push her high chair up to the door, undo both locks, and scuttle out the door and out of the apartment building :s
