Do you buy pirated DVDs?

Im guilty of this. Here in our country, pirated Cds and DVDs are everywhere. Since we live in a poor country, people here preferred to watch movies on their player instead of watching them in theatres. DVDs here would cost around 800 pesos whiles CDs would cost around 350 pesos. Although I buy original CDs of my favorite artists, sometimes I'm tempted to buy pirated collection of my favorite movies since I can buy them for just 100 pesos and that's already DVD copies of around 13 movies. I know it's stealing, but most of us can't help it helps us save more money while we enjoy our movies at the comfort of our home at the same time.

yes i do. i bought them because its really cheap compared to the original one. and of course i knew the fact that's its illegal and and i wont last long. after playing it five times and the dvd i bought will have some problems in playing . so that's the risk from buying pirated stuff.

I think I have only purchased one or two original CDs in my entire life. If I do buy a CD or DVD, it's almost always pirated. Why? Because like you said it cost less while you can still enjoy the entertainment that it brings. There are many of them with very poor quality though but then it's expected, being pirated and all.A lot of times I thought I just wasted my money on them that's why I opt for renting original movies instead.

Dear friend, Yes, I do buy if that DVDs are really needed for me. But mostly I avoid it. Here I could get many pirated CDs and the same is sold at a high price in market too. It all depends upon my requirements. But mostly I would avoid it.

I don't ever personally buy pirated DVDs but my family does whenever they head to china and usually they return with like 20 - 30 pirated DVDs at once. Back in the U.S. where i am for most of the year I always buy real DVDs simply because I think it's ethical and also because it's legal. I don't mind too much watching pirated DVDs but i do sometimes notice their quality.. which is why I prefer real DVDs but hell, they're cheap. so it's all relative.

I live in the US, and piracy is a huge problem here. (Not just downloading movies or music for personal use, but actually being able to purchase pirated material for CHEAP.) I live in a small community where not to much piracy hapens on the streets, but once last month in a city about an hour away, my fiance stopped at a taco truck for lunch and by the window where he ordered, there was a box full of pirated DVD's for 5 dollars each. He bought them-I was appalled, mainly because they were selling them alongside serving food, and it was so plain as day they were breaking the law. If you have to have CD's or DVD's, download them from share sites. Don't support piracy by paying for them!!

IF I admit to it your not going to send the po po over here. Just joking, but its something I dont just tell anyone. I know only one person who sells pirated dvd's. I haven't bought any in almost a year but I have been wanting to do this for a while to save money. I know its wrong but if they wouldn't sell movies for such a high price in stores or rent them out for such a price maybe it wouldn't be such a big deal .

Hi friend. I can relate well with your post as we're from the same country. I know that selling pirated CD's and DVD's is very rampant here in our country. As for me, I don't want to tolerate piracy because it's a form of cheating. Plus, I believe that the original cd's and dvd's are of much better quality than the pirated ones. These last longer so it's just worth it's cost. Also, I sometimes do rent. This is an affordable and convenient way to watch a movie. But if I do have the time, of course, I do watch it in cinemas because you can feel the story better watching it in big screen.
