In several countries there is mandatory conscription or military service of some kind. When i was a conscript there was a saying.- Who has been a conscript does not laugh in circus anymore. Not because you come out so serious after wards but because the army is a biggest circus of them all in peace time. I think you all have heard the saying that "army makes a man out of you" but not heard the saying. " comes in as a goof goes out as a goof" So i would like to know weather the conscription is necessary at all?

hi, if mandatory conscription of my china is necessary, it will be considered threatening neighbour countries, because china has the largest population with many soldiers and reservists, which country doesn't worry about a large number of armed forces in the neighbour countries? But i think the armed training in university or college is neccessary, they train for one month, it can improve their spirit and vigilance, the most of young live in a period of peace, they never feel the hardship and cruelty in war.

Well i have to agree, but i guess it depends how long you have to serve. i had a one year service, and most people there thought its a waste of time. of curse you learn something there. But that does not mean i would not have learned something better without being there.
