I was wondering how many people actually lock their system from the bios itself rather than the operating system ...

If someone forget its BIOS password then it can be removed(not recovered completely removed) by just one simple process and that is -- Just take out the CMOS battery which is fitted on the motherboard for 5-10 minutes. This will actually reset motherboard's settings and it will be restored to default state and all the password will be removed. So, its really very simple to forget BIOS password and its even more simpler to remove that. Happy to help you!!!!

This would work but the result would be rather drastic. The clock would reset and itu would also forget the boot options which means that you would end up reinstalling the operating syste.

yes doing that in a laptop is actually more risky than trying it in your desktop... so if someone happens to keep a laptop then they better have a backup for the password... thanks for responding, have a nice day!

An interesting question because I have never considered password protecting the BIOS and do not know anyone who has. I doubt if any personal user would have reason to take security to such a level, although it will no doubt be in use in some commercial systems.

yeah i have friends who put password in their bios, but then there are not really many people out there who do that, you don't want to forget the password that way....

Hi, I personally have never ever fiddled with my Bios. I don't think I actually need to since I don't have anything that needs a Bios re-configuration. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

I lock every my computer with password, and it's very easy to reset the keys if you have an software running in your computer. My nephew knew to set the BIOS, then I always watch her.

in fact, creating a password to your bios is better than creating for the os.its because the OS is not operated yet until u type the correct BIOS password.many people like to switch off their computer without shut it down first because of the password of the os.this will cause damage to ur harddisk in short time.but always remember ur BIOS password well.beware of that...
