i'm asking because i got my first one day! and i'm in pay out mode right now and they took away about 25 cent thats like one day worth of work. they said if your discussion is against the rules or something you get a deducation. but i been coming on being very active and i'm thinking i'm gonna have so much money added today but i had more money deducted then added. so i feel horrible and i don't know what i did wrong all my discussions had questions in it. and i don't think i did anything wrong. and i'm very angry but i have to go. so happy mylotting everyone and don't forget to respond!

I have only had one deduction. I think what happened was I responded to a discussion and someone posted a referral link on it. That is against the rules and it got deleted. I'm not really sure if that is the reason or not. It was really upsetting because as far as I know I hadn't done anything wrong. I pouted for a day or two and then got over it and kept posting. I know that is distressing to lose that amount, as you said a days work. Keep posting and good luck with payout.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I do try to read the rules but also rely on people who have been here for awhile. Appreciate your help! There have been times that I wanted to post on discussions, but saw a referral link mid discussion and backed away!

My discussion was deleted because I had posted my referral link in it. I lost my 12 cents as well which I had earned! I was so sad From now onwards I am very careful not to post any referral link!

If you reach minimum payout you will be paid like many of us who reach it every month. Please take your time to read here: http://www.mylot.com/o/mylot.aspx You will see that links promoting blogs are not allowed in the discussions, as well as many other Guidelines too. Welcome and happy Lotting!

Sorry you lost a bit of money, but it probably happens to everyone once in a while. I had a few deductions recently, and I know that it was because I commented on some discussions that I shouldn't have bothered with. Usually, when I see a discussion that is clearly against the rules, I don't bother to comment because I know it may be deleted, and I'll lose some money. I used to leave a comment to let people know they were violating the rules. But if they can't be bothered to read the rules, or they just think they can get away with it, I'm not going to put myself in a position to be penalized.

Wow that has never happend to me before. I never knew they can take money out of your earnings so that kind of sucks for you which 25 cents is a lot of money for this forum for them to take out.

hi you didnt do anything wrong, we all get deducions when somebody get their discussion deleted and we were all unfortunate' enough to have responded to it as our responses and comments also go bye bye but you will get that back because mylot adds in other things towards the end of payperiod, anyway you did nothing wrong. it had nothing to do with you aNd your work.

I thought that my number of comments had decreased by one, and then the amount I earned has decreased by $.02 since yesterday. It must be that I responded to a discussion that was deleted, because I don't think any of my responses violated any of the terms on here. At least I know that this is happening to other people, too, so I'm not going crazy - lol!

It does happen more often than people think. I think some spammers actually participate in active forums, but when they get caught spamming, they get deleted and there goes the forums and the responses you and I have blindly communicated with. There really is no sure-fire way to avoid it. Chatting with friends who you have seen legit activity from for a while is a safer bet that topics are real and do not violate the Mylot rules.

When myLot delete the discussions and responses that contain violations there are then deductions. Any earnings added to your account for posts which are later removed will be deducted. Today's earnings have not yet updated but I too have seen a decrease. This is due to all the posts I lost in the last few days when many were deleted. Often we respond where we shouldn't. If we are aware of the Guidelines we can avoid it or at least know that our post will be deleted and we will lose earnings.

I've lost 1ยข since yesterday... But, if you count the time wasted in responding to discussions that end up in the bin and the electrical costs, we're actually losing money every day on here...

I am not losing money for my electrical bill. Never think that all users are in the same conditions as you are

Oh yes, the latest one was yesterday. I was hoping for my earnings to be updated or at least increase a bit, but while I was responding to other discussions, it was suddenly decreased by $0.03. Like the rest have said, that was because of some of the discussions, which I have responded to had violated the guidelines were deleted. I have violated the rules once, so, I went to check if it's from the particular discussion, but it's still there. I think it will be nice if we get to see the list of deleted discussions... Anyway, Happy myLotting to you, too! Cheers!!

Hello justbeingtiffany this is checkmail and mine too the earnings as well as the responses got deducted a few times or so.It really an shocking experience to see any of the above two figures deducted.I think it was due to the negative rating by the other friends and members and also do to our absense on mylot.Well the earning can be dedcuted as per our discussion or response is rated by the Mylot friends. And about the deduction in responses is due to non presence of us on Mylot for participation.

Wow I am surprised you lost so much! 25 cents is a lot as you are right, it is usually a days worth of posting! I in the beginning posted some referral links and probably lost some money too, but never took the time to check. After the 3 day delay of payment today, I was really surprised I got so much more these 2 days, as I wasnt really active here as I was waiting for the payment process to clear up!

It happens, beware of what you respond to because if someone has posts deleted you will ose your profit from it as well. It's not very fair, but it's how it works. Likewise, I have actually seen INCREASES days after-just yesterday, I had earned 3.84 to date for the month. And this morning, my earnings went up 6 cents! At first I though I only earned 6 cents yesterday, but when I realized my earnings hadn't been updated yet, I was quite excited!

A couple of times I think they deducted my earnings because I thought I had this much earnings but when I come back later the earnings seem to be different. One time I actually saw my earnings grow by 1 cents and then drop by 2 cents, it was weird, I don't know if they manually deduct earnings or if it's done by a computer. But it's no big deal to me because it's just a couple of cents. Now if it were 25 cents, then I will be disappointed and mad.
