what when buying a domain

well when we buy a domain and after buying it do we get a site or what we actually get...do we get a site in which we have to do editing or we have to make full site and then upload on it ...

If you buy just a domain or you buy also a hosting too?a hosting means that your site will be hosted on a server company..if you have a server at home you can buy only a domain and after that you cna manage it from your server as well...it depends...i guess you need a hosting plan too...when you bought a domain and hosting plan you can just upload your site on the server you hosted and retrieved on the doamin you bought!!
