Controversial: A Named Psychopath and Murderer

Hello, I am going to offer a dynamic controversial subject based on a well-known killer who we have all heard of. Please offer a deep opinion on this matter if you choose to do so! Remember the story of Jeffrey Dahmer? He was gruesome and demented, as he vicitimed many people by raping them, killing them, severing body parts, and keeping their bodily "tokens" in his own home while they rotted! Now I know this is absoltuely insane and by no means something anyone in their right mind would do. I am sure nobody had any sympathy for this man....except his own mother. Dahmer was killed in prison by another inmate-brutally beaten to death, and his mother's statement after the fact was "Is everyone happy now?" Dahmer no doubt deserved to be in prison for life, never seeing antother human being outside the walls of the prison, but did he truly deserve to be killed in such a way? His mother was devastated by what happened, and I am sure the public had mixed emotions of security and shock, knowing that a "freak" had had his life justified by another human being. Just a thought.....I am intrigued by such monsters because I am very curious what these people think when performing such horendous acts and how their families deal with it.

I actually watched a show the other night called "Recipe for a serial killer" Apparently there are three factors that have been directly linked to serial killers. One is head injuries at a young age, abused during childhood, and mental illness. They studied several serial killers and found these three to be common among them. Some didn't even realize they had head injuries because they happened when they were so young. When they were x-rayed, the doctors found the evidence of early head trauma. I found the show to be very interesting.

I really enjoy shows like that as well, documentary type shows about the basics of serial killers or other horendous criminals. (I just recently watched one about David Parker Ray.....he was just as demented as Dahmer, and his girlfriend accomplice was just as cruel and crazy.) I didn't know that serial criminals had the same factors found in each like you had mentioned. Interesting.....

These men and women are brutal, out right killers so how do you punish them? One, kill them like they killed so many, or two, let them rot in jail to suffer the inhumane treatment of having no life other than what is behind those bars and or contact with family outside those walls. It is hard to say. I feel no matter what human justice is given, it isn't enough for the victims, that they themselves have to delve within themselves to be able to heal, not to count on the punishment of the perpetrator.

That is true, I suppose, because no matter what happened to the person who harmed their loved ones, it is by no maens going to repalce tht emptiness in the families' lives and that person can't be brought be back. I am sure the victim's families were somewhat justified that Dahmer was brutally murdered in prison. In a sense, he got his karma, perhaps.

Two worngs do not make a right, ever, under any circumstances. Mayeb teh true punishemnt for him would have had to have been to sit in prison in solitary confinement for 30 years. It would have surely driven him crazy!

Or perhaps not, depends on what they felt was just punishment as I said. Some would rather see them suffer as the victims. Yet if you look at it from outside the box, wanting him brutally murdered as their family members were, wouldn't that say they are wrong as well. I mean, does two wrongs make it right? I am not defending either side with this, it is just the thoughts that I get when these types of things are talked about.

He's real psycho. What he has done with his victims were really gruesome and macabre. I couldn't imagine how his mother could ever accept his son as like that? Does his mother doesn't have any conscience? Was she like her son? If I was his mother, I would call the cops so that he would get arrested. I would never tolerate such things like that even if he is my son. Whatever he has experienced in prison, he deserved it. I know its inhumane to say that but what he has done to others is totally unacceptable.

No, his mother never called the cops on him, but she watched as he was imprisoned and then later on murdered while incarcerated. I don't know if his mother was like him or not, but I am guessing not because I have never heard of anything with her name in such media. I am sure she still loved her son. You can't just stop loving (I don't think anyway) your children even if they become such monsters. It doesn't mean she ever would have had to approve of his behavior, but I am sure she still loves him to this day.

I'll admit a lot of curiosity about serial killers. In fact, I was once called for jury duty and surprised the judge by knowing a lot about the subject.

Hey there princess...thanks for posting yet another subject we seem to relate on ;) I have been fascinated by serial killers since I was in high school- way back when..lol. I actually shocked my speech class senior year by giving a speech about John Wayne Gacy's terrible murders...lol. I also collect and own a large library on the worst serial killers of all time. I think what intrigues me the most is the difference in their mentality. Also the warning signs that most showed before moving on to human prey. In alot of the backgrounds of these men you find animal abuse and defecation of animal corpses. These to me were starting points in their careers- and when that wasn't enough they moved on to human prey. Also you mentioned a serial killing duo above...I have read that these are the very worst kind- they do more terribly horrible crimes because it is said that they are trying to "impress" each other. Again, fascinating mentality in my point of view. Do I believe that Jeffrey Dahmer deserved to die as he did- YES- Am I sorry that one of his own cell mates was his murderer- NO- because he went out and picked up boys in his area...and didn't care that he was killing someone's son or husband. He had no remorse for the many people besides his victims that he has scared forever. In the same sense- NO- it wasn't right for his life to be taken by another- but it wasn't right when he was taking life from another. So I guess in conclusion, I honestly feel that if one hurts someone in the way these men have- they deserve to suffer- maybe in some instances in the very way their victims did. BTW- I LOVE these types of topics Princess- thanks

I have had a splash of curiosity lately and for about 2 days straight I read and researched various serial killers-seriously that is all I did -read up on them! About the third or forth tiome my husband looked over my shoulder, he said "Baby, are looking to kill me or someone else?" LOL Funny, althuogh i did think for a second, why am I so intrigued by this? Am I in fact a little too interested? Well we all have our quirks, don't we?? My favorite female killer is Belle Gunness, I believe she was Norwegian, but her story in short is available at Wikipedia and if you like strange and tediously plotted murders and schemes, you will love this woman's story! If you do in fact get a chance to read up on her, let me know what you think! (Or if you all ready know of her, what do you think of her?)

I think Dahmer freaked out the people/man inside the prison cell. So maybe before they/he becomes a victim, he must kill Dahmer ahead. I guess that could be it. Aside from anger. Any people who'd be put beside him will of course be always on guard.

It is actually not a surprising story in all reality-that a rapist is destined to be killed in prison. Even in the worst of criminals (so I have been told) the ones who are not accepted often times even by other inmates are rapists and ones who molest or hurt children (which Dahmer had done both). People in prison often carry a lot more rage I would imagine,a nd some would never think twice to hurt someone inside, even if it meant extending their sentence.

Often times people who commit rape are treated the same as they did to others in prison. I don't feel bad for them at all, although I did do a speech in college to help stop prison rape-mainly because it is often times the smaller, weaker men who are hurt in prison, and when the "prison victims" are released, they are 10 times more like to have many various disorders and could end up continuing the rape that happens on the streets. (Just as many people who become rapists were sexually abused as children.)

That's very true. The same this is happening here in our countries. The murderers are feared most while the rapists will get in a lot of trouble in prison cells.
