I have been wondering of which account could be the best ie joint or separate. I have studied, noticed that most relationship break up because of kind of choice made. It seems joint account could be good, but it depends on how is created. I was having the notion that, its operation seems to be like a socialist system. If it is created in such a way, where all funds or revenue from both parties are channel into a single account, it looks like socialist system. It has disadvantages like, one partner deciding to be lazy, just looking at the other party working. Other disadvatages include close monitoring of accounts, by both partners, and moment one notice slight change in the account, parties start fighting. Personally, i have read that money is root of all evils, and i believe that. I think joint account is good if only there is understanding between the couples. The couple can agree to create a joint account for payments of bills, like rent, food, school fees, etc daily expenditure common to both parties. Partners can then sit down, and agreed on proportion of funds to be channel in this particular joint account. If the ratios proposed by both parties are acceptable, then each should creat automatic transfer of funds into the joint account. The remaining amount after expenses belong to individual. We are born with some instint, if you believe to buy any other item to support the home because you earn more than your partner, you are free to do so. Truth is key to successful operation of this kind of account. What do you think, i will be waiting for your choice with reasons.
