Okay this was one thing in my garden that took very well. I keep cutting them and they come back full force. I love green onions with baked potatoes and a topping on my chili....tacos, taco salad and taco bakes... But what else do you guys add green onions with? Mine are in a container and I plan to bring them indoors this year for the fall/winter season. Also, the bulbs in the pot are they what are called scallions?

Scallions are different they are larger and have a slight differnce in flavor! Let me give you a tip, if you take 4 or 5 fresh garlic cloves and put them in a pot of dirt bottom side down just cover them, they will grow like green onions and I just snip the green with scissors, not to far down they will continue to grow all winter! I snip em over salads and in the frying pan when needed, no smell on your hands and the flavor is the same! I use green onions in salad, tuna salad for sandwiches and egg salad for the same! tdemex

hi taface hatley here I like to snip pieces of green onion and mis in my potato salad, also good in a greens salad, gives some pep and flavor. also snipped into mixed veggies it gives a bit more zip Scallions are also good snipped into pasta sauces and in meat dishes for a great flavor addition.

Scallions are another relative of the regular onion, not the same as green onions at all. Bigger and they have a different flavor. My Mom's been cutting them up and putting them in veggie bakes, sauteeing them for veggie sides drizzled in olive oil and some dressing. I've been putting them in my one-pan meals...drenched in sauces over rice. They're pretty versatile.

You can add them to eggs, salads and even make a spicy garnish with some tomatoes and salt and pepper. I love green onions and when I see some I always grab them and try to see what I can add them to. I put some on some nachos and you can even make some killer salsa with them, have fun.
