of course not, in any situation. In self defense only if his life is truly being threatened...but if he started it in the first place...then no. I would playfully slap my hubby on the thigh, and he would spaz out. That's takin' it too far I think...I think he was looking for attention...any way that really irritated me....

No it is not ok for a man to hit a woman. Neither is it ok for a woman to hit a man. The only way I feel it is ok to hit someone is in self-defense. I was in an abusive relationship for 6 1/2 years. Hitting is NOT ok!

I regret if i have made you recall any bad memory ---- 6 1/2 year is a really long time ..... even 6 1/2 hours can explain anyone why hitting is not right ....

i completely agree. it is not ok for a man to hit a woman and vice versa..i was also in an abusive relationship for several years, the last time he hit me was when my son was 5 months old, he did it right in front of my son and the look on my son's face, even as a baby is one i will never forget.something in me snapped at that moment,and when my ex went to work the next morning, i loaded my car with whatever belongings i could cram in it, and my son and i moved as far away as possible....not all situations are the same as what i expeienced, but the only time hitting another person is ok, at least in my book, is in self defense...

I was a battered partner for a total of over 5 years. I don't feel that it should be allowed ANYWHERE. Women do not deserve to be treated this way. Ever.

i feel its not ok to just out of nowhere hit a girl or woman, buyt if a chick comes running and swinging her fists to kick ur a$$ darn right its ok to knock her the flip out (not keep hittimg her though) just enough to stop her from hitting you

No, it is absolutely NOT okay for a man to hit a woman or for a woman to hit a man or for that matter for anyone to hit or assault anyone! I try to promote peace.
