That the majority of these books are about 186 pages? I am going through all the books in my bookshelf & reading them before I decide to keep them or get rid of them & I have quite a few mills & boons in there which I am reading before I get rid of these. I enjoy reading these every so often for a quick read. Very rarely are these books any longer than 190 pages.. have you noticed this?

Hi moonchild, the reason these books are a set length is that they are formula books and must follow a standard format before being accepted by the publisher. The publisher researches the type of book which it deems acceptable to its readers and thus the formula book is written to fit in with certain guidelines.

yes, it's mostly 186 or 187 pages. even the old issues are around the same number of pages. i did read one that is 189 pages and i thought... that was a change from the usual. -lol- my aunts and one of my sisters (and of course... me) are very fond of reading and we keep a collection even from the issues in the 80's (during the peak interest of my aunts). and i have added a few dozen more over the years. like you i'm enjoying the quick read whenever i have free time. we were also choosing the ones to keep and the ones to give away or swap or sell.
