Okay, so I'm moving my furniture around... again...

Do any of you move furniture around just for the fun of it? I love to move things around and see how the room looks with the furniture in different placements. I think I'm in over my head right now though... as I've just recently moved into the upstairs of this house and I think I may have at least one too many pieces of furniture in the living room! I just can't seem to find a way that works for me... mainly because there's a vent for the central air that can't be blocked right in front of the big bow window. So, what do you do when you just can't seem to find the right place for each piece of furniture? Do you draw a diagram or just keep moving stuff around? I've been moving for about two hours now, and I really needed a myLot break! My back is killing me! What about you guys? Do you move furniture around? Do you like the way things are set up in your home and don't move anything?

I love to move things around just to shake things up and freshen it up a bit. I usually do that a couple times a year, with the change of the seasons. I usually have to change things up to fit in a Christmas tree, then when I take it down again the living room furniture usually gets a new arrangement. I don't usually make a diagram, although sometimes I'm sure it'd help hahaha. I live in an older home, so I also have to think about the heating vents, awkward sized windows and all that too. Some things I never move...ever. Like my piano has nowhere else to go except exactly where it is (plus it's wayyyyyyy too heavy to move on a whim, so there it stays!) I like to switch up and move different pieces into different rooms here and there too. I don't know why, but just changing things around sometimes makes me happy.

Yes, that's exactly what I like to do. I find it really neat to move things around and then sit back and say, wow, cool... it's like being in a whole different place, lol. It is really a happy thing. Thanks for your input.

Okay I was just about to email you when I saw this - I do this Alot! When I want a break or when I'm stressed - or just because! I think when I have my own place and when I can work again (right now since my husband's job disqualifies us from vouchers - its more expensive for me to work then stay home) I want think I want to have have a box of decor for each season and lotsov holidays so I can change things up. And I can move the furniture to suit it. I don't draw anything up I just do it.

Yes, it is a great stress-buster. It somehow makes me feel better to "see" a change when I'm stressed out. I think it is human nature to want things to change every so often. Our lives sometimes become monotonous if we don't have at least subtle little changes every now and again. I usually don't draw up a plan either, because if I do, I just end up doing something completely different anyway.

my friends kid me quite often about how much I move my furniture around....lol. And god forbid I get some new furniture- then I end up moving everything in that room...and some others most likely- around.

Lol, I hear ya! I got a small lamp on ebay some time ago and set it on an end table, but really didn't like it there, soooo, I moved the end table to a corner and that's kind of how this whole thing started! Whew! I do love to move things around though.

My grandfather likes to move flower pots around his garden. He likes doing that so his garden can be his own design. He says that different spots can give better sunlight for his plants but I know he's just having fun.

I have a small vegetable garden, but I would like to put some potted plants out there so that I can "liven it up" a little. I would probably move the flower pots around just like your grandfather. It is fun to rearrange things from time to time.
