I've just saw on the news of a penny made in 2006 that sold for 3500 dollars. Anyone know anything about it?

It might have had an extrodinary defect in the penny which didn't exist in any other ones. To be sold for that much, it would also have to be in almost mint-mint condition.

Yes, probably. Ironic though, that the penny made with mistakes is actually the most valuable one.

Wow! It was probably a magnetic 1943 penny in excellent condition. There were only a fw made and very few that still exist, even fewer in good condition. That would be AWESOME to find something so valuable. While working at a bank someone deposited a Morgan dollar. It is a silver dollar piece from the early 1900s (and late 1800s) and is worth about $15. That was pretty neat. I have also seen some blue, red, gold certificates which are pretty neat and different, and sometimes valuable...

That's alright. I know a lot of coins made a long time ago is worth money but it's my first time hearing about this penny as well.

No, I don't think they're made from gold and they are made from some other valuable metals sometimes.
