If you don't have money then you're broke. As simple as that. Lifestyle, most of the time, do not indicate one's bank money for a simple reason of individuality. For example, I may not have a car but my bank account is hefty, or I have a lot of jewelry on my body but not a penny in my bank. Am I making sense?

That is so true, the appearance has little to do with monetary wealth. Years ago, I was an insurance salesman. As I walked into a company there was a man sitting outside the front gate. He was sitting on the ground. He wore torn jeans that were dirty, had a five o'clock shadow, and a straw hat on his head. I grew up as a preacher's kid, so I tend to be nice to everyone until they give me reason otherwise. I struck up a conversation with the man. He asked me why I was visiting the company. I told him what my business was. We wished each other a good day and I went into my meeting. On my way out, the gentleman asked me how the meeting went. I told him that the men had said they wanted to think about it, however, it did not look promising. The man said "I like what you have there, follow me". He led me back into the building and up to the managers' desks. The same men I had met with earlier. They knew this gentleman. He told them that he liked what I had and to buy it for the company. The guy sitting by the front gate was the owner of the company. He had enough money to look however he wanted. This is a true story and illustrates the importance of being kind to everyone and that you really cannot judge a book by its cover.

Wow, really? That is amazing! I only heard about that kind of story from some tales. The thing that strikes me about this kind of story is that still you can find good-hearted people who care to get involved with the needy. I so appreciate people like this. In your story, I wonder why that man in the gate should have to do that poor-man act. To find good people? Makes sense.

Your lifestyle certainly determines whether you are broke (monetarily) or not. You should check out the book "The Millionaire Mind". It is a series of surveys from millionaires. The surveys are geared towards the habits that millionaires demonstrate. It has some very interesting findings such as most millionaires do not drive new cars, most millionaires do not go into Starbucks. This book really goes against the grain of the rich people that our media portrays.

I think debt determines if you're broker. Like my mother, she has a lot of credit cards and they're all maxed out so whatever money she gets on her hands, she'll have to use it towards repaying the debt. She spends her money on grocery and family vacations but those can really add up to big bucks.

Well, if you're talking broke moneywise, then I guess it's when you have no money left in the bank account... But if you're talking about broke non-moneywise, I don't think anyone could ever be. We have our friends, our family, happiness in our lives, those things fill us up.. So even though our wallet is empty with money, it's full of the love we have for others.
