I have a 15 year old daughter. We have always had a great relationship until about 13. Then came the "mom doesnt understand" and the drama like nothing else! I had decided about a year ago that it was very important to be around more. So, I quit my job and now just do odd jobs on my own schedule. I am involved in her school, sports, and i got her involved in our church and now I am a helper with the youth group. The other day, I heard the sweetest thing. Somebody needed a ride home, and somebody asked where her parents were, my daughter said "her parents arent as good as my mom" OMG! I almost cried. lol this mighht be silly but it has been a rough two years.
In fifteen years I have never heard "I hate you" but I thought we were getting close! Thank God it is paying off.
Do you have a special Mom moment like this? Please share.

That is great! I know that must have made your day. Just the other day, my 7 year old son says 'dad, I want to be like you'. I was like 'Awwww, that's so sweet' but then he finishes with 'cuz you're allowed to eat in the family room'. My bubble popped a little.

I have heard that I am a good mom from my kids friends. That makes me and my children feel good about my decision to become a stay at home mom when they were little. I think it is so important to be able to attend school activities and sports that our kids are involved in. Congrats to you.
