Ebid

Hi, I use eBay all of the time to make extra money. I sell the kids old clothes and toys and just bits rom around the house. I have laways done very well in the past but recently have noticed the fees seem to be taking most of my sale. I have been registered with Ebid for a couple of years and noticed it was free to list so thought I would give it a go. My question is - how many people have actually heard of Ebid and if so do you use it. Would you use it now you know it exists? Thanks

There are a number of sites available, but they don't generate much traffic because people aren't aware of them. I list some things on webidz, or bidjunk and had a little success on webidz. It just took a long time to sell. On the plus side, you can list an item for a long time. I guess it will take people time to get familiar with other auction sites and maybe that way it will divert some of the ebay traffic. Good luck to you!

The new listing fee structure has put me off eBay a bit. 40% is high and it's a bad time to bring the changes in. I've noticed that some people are charging extra in the postage which I think is fair enough but I'd rather they had the old fee charges back in place as it's not fair on smaller sellers. The only thing you can do,other than adding the extra to the postage is to calculate your fees before hand and work them in to the start price which hopefully won't put people off bidding. You can also get a cashback credit card and pay you listing fees back, at least you get something back on your fees then. I have tried ebid but didn't find I made many sales but I've seen thousands of people saying they are going to ebid so it might get more popular. I am registered with them and I think it is quite a well known site. I've seen people with over a thousand in feedback on there so they must be doing alright.

I use ebid and run a small store on it, i prefer it to ebay as the fees are not as high, and it can almost be used as an e-commerce site, I have a domain name that points directly at my store and all my listings are simply buy it nows so it works the same way. I don't think I would ever go back to ebay.
